Social Media

Currently things are very different from how they were fifty years ago. And the main reason why is technology. We live in the digital era, and nowadays will be practically impossible to live with out a TV, internet or a mobile phone. But this technology development has as well changed the market, specially since the social media appeared. We can find in seconds opinions from consumers all over the world in many products. But who posted them? and more importantly, are they trustworthy?

In this article, we can see where different people that belong to a technological company search for purchase recommendations. It proves that CIO's in UK, Germany and France are likely to search in sites like Linkedin Groups. But on the other hand, IT buyers are very unlikely to get opinions in social networks as they prefer consultants and search engines.
It is very interesting the last paragraph of the article where it suggests that as the technology and the social networks are very intertwined, people are more reluctant to go and search for opinions there.
